British one-pan breakfast

Ingredients for 4 crew

  • Eggs8 unit
  • Bacon or sausage240 g
  • Tinned baked beans320 g
  • Tomato2 unit
  • Bread, fried in the pan after4 slice
  • Butter or oil40 g

Method

  1. 1Fry the bacon or sausage first and push it to the side of the pan.
  2. 2Fry the tomato halves cut-side down, then the eggs in the same fat.
  3. 3Warm the beans in a corner of the pan or a small pot.
  4. 4Fry the bread last so it soaks up the flavour. Serve straight from the pan.

Serve it in

  • Deep plates with a rim — nothing slides off in a swell

Plating & decoration

  • Wedge everything together in the pan and serve family-style if plates are scarce.

Decoration should always be something you can eat — thyme, mint, basil, red pepper.
