Melon ships with Parma ham sails

Ingredients for 4 crew

  • Melon (cantaloupe)200 g
  • Parma ham slices140 g
  • Olive oil (top quality)12 ml
  • Thyme, fresh4 sprig
  • Toothpicks8 unit

Method

  1. 1Slice the melon into easy-eat gondola shapes and cut the skin away. Lay them on the serving plate.
  2. 2Form each Parma ham slice into a sail on a toothpick and stick it into the melon.
  3. 3Decorate with fresh thyme. Drizzle very lightly with olive oil — only if the oil is excellent, otherwise it turns bitter.
  4. 4Serve.

Chef's notes

  • Decoration should always be edible: thyme, mint, basil, red pepper.
